Our second trombonist Damian has joined our brass band two years ago

Damian within the band we sometimes call you the kangaroo, where does that come from?
Prior to coming back to Switzerland in 2014 I lived for 9 years in Melbourne, Australia. That’s also where I met my wife Melinda.

That sounds exciting, did you play in a band in Australia as well?
Unfortunately no, however I was always close to music as I was on the board of directors for the Swiss Club of Victoria as well as the Swiss Festival Australia, the largest Swiss Culture and Music event in Australia.

What kind of instrument do you play in the Brass Band BlackBoxMusic?
I’m a big fan of my Yamaha Valve Trombone and I love the harmonic sound it creates in combination with the standard trombone Sven plays.

When you are not rehearsing and performing with BlackBoxMusic how do you spend your spare time?
Last year I became father of our super cute daughter Matilda and together with my wife we love traveling around Europe. Another big hobby of mine is filming and I create and produce all the content on our homepage and social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as our videos on our YouTube channel.
